IMPERIAL DATABASE LOGS 'UNEXPLAINED VISOR CONDENSATION' DURING TROOPER'S HOSPITAL VISIT

The Empire has a form for everything except a trooper who cries. Archivists would like the record to show the cause was known.

Special Missions Desk, The Spoiler Alert

The After the Armor database. Archivists searched every file for a form marked "feelings." There is a form marked "helmet polish."

Archivists combing After the Armor, the Imaginarium's in-universe database of Imperial unit files and classified reports, say the Empire has a form for everything: blaster maintenance, helmet polish, Endor log-trap incident reports (447 pending), the correct way to march down a corridor. It does not, they report, have a form for a trooper who cries.

The question comes from a real mission. Mr. Samman has written that, as a member of the 501st Legion, he once walked the halls of a children's hospital in full armour, visor fogging slightly, heart pounding. One small child, tired and hooked up to machines, sat up straighter, eyes lit. Behind the helmet, he cried. Hard. Grateful no one could see his face.

"Under Imperial regulations, that would be logged as visor condensation, cause unknown," said one archivist. "We would like the record to show the cause was known." Imperial HR convened four officers in matching grey, deliberated nine hours and confirmed it has no box for this.

In a week about costumes, this desk notes that the armour began as something Mr. Samman wore to feel elite, commanding and, in his word, "badass." It ended as something he wore for someone else. "The costume never stopped being cool," he wrote. "It just stopped being about me."

The database remains open to visitors. The condensation has not been explained, and nobody is trying very hard.
